Despite producing competitive aircraft in the Fokker 50, Fokker 70, and Fokker 100, the company could not achieve sufficient economies of scale against larger rivals Airbus and Boeing. A total of 283 Fokker 100s were delivered. The last Fokker 100s are expected to be retired by the late 2020s, with Alliance Airlines in Australia operating one of the final fleets.
