The Airbus A330-900neo is the larger of the re-engined A330neo pair, updating the A330-300 airframe with new Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 turbofans and aerodynamic refinements. It seats about 260 passengers in two classes and up to 440 single-class, cruising at 871 km/h with a range near 13,334 km. First flown in 2017, the aircraft is 63.7 metres long with a 64.0-metre wingspan and a maximum takeoff weight of 251,000 kg. The updated engines cut fuel consumption by roughly a quarter compared with the earlier A330-300, and Airbus positioned the -900 as a lower-cost alternative to the Boeing 787 for airlines seeking an affordable modern wide-body.
