The original member of the Airbus A330 line, the A330-300 is a twin-aisle wide-body that became the volume seller of the program. It carries about 277 passengers in two classes and as many as 440 single-class. Two Rolls-Royce Trent 772B-60 turbofans provide a range near 11,750 km at 871 km/h. First flown in 1992, the -300 measures 63.7 metres long, spans 60.3 metres, and has a maximum takeoff weight of 242,000 kg. Airlines prized it for reliability and low operating costs on medium- and long-haul routes, and its widespread service laid the groundwork for the later re-engined A330neo.
