The Boeing 777-200 was the original 'Triple Seven' and the first Boeing airliner to use digital fly-by-wire flight controls. This twin-aisle wide-body seats about 305 passengers in two classes and up to 440 single-class, with two GE90-77B turbofans giving a range near 9,700 km at 905 km/h. First flown in 1994, the -200 is 63.7 metres long with a 60.9-metre wingspan and a maximum takeoff weight of 247,200 kg. It set a new benchmark for twin-engine wide-body performance and cabin comfort, and it opened a family that later stretched and extended into some of the most capable long-haul aircraft in service.
