Fleet Overview

All Nippon Airways (ANA) is Japan's largest airline by revenue and one of Asia's most respected carriers. Operating approximately 220 mainline aircraft from hubs at Tokyo Haneda (HND), Tokyo Narita (NRT), and Osaka (ITM/KIX), ANA serves over 100 international and 120 domestic destinations. The airline is a full member of Star Alliance and is renowned for operational precision, cabin cleanliness, and service quality. ANA holds an impressive safety record with no hull losses since 1971.

787 Launch Customer

ANA holds the distinction of being the launch customer and largest operator of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, with approximately 80 aircraft across the 787-8, 787-9, and 787-10 variants. ANA received its first 787-8 in September 2011, beginning revenue service on NRT–Hong Kong. The 787 now covers ANA's medium and long-haul international network including Tokyo–London Heathrow, Tokyo–Los Angeles, Tokyo–Frankfurt, and Tokyo–Sydney. The 787-10, the longest Dreamliner variant, was added for high-density regional routes including Haneda–Singapore and Narita–Bangkok.

777 Fleet

ANA operates approximately 50 Boeing 777-200/200ER/300ER aircraft for high-capacity international and domestic trunk routes. The 777-300ER covers flagship routes such as HND–New York JFK, HND–London Heathrow, and NRT–Chicago O'Hare. Domestically, the 777-300 (shorter-range domestic variant) serves the densely traveled Tokyo–Sapporo, Tokyo–Fukuoka, and Tokyo–Osaka routes with up to 514 passengers in an all-economy high-density configuration.

A380 "Flying Honu"

ANA operates 3 Airbus A380 aircraft, uniquely branded as the "Flying Honu" (Hawaiian sea turtle). Each aircraft features a distinct Hawaiian-inspired livery — sky blue, emerald green, and sunset orange. The A380s are deployed exclusively on the Tokyo Narita–Honolulu route (NH184/NH185) and Tokyo Narita–New York JFK on selected dates. The Flying Honu A380 features ANA's "The Room" business suite with direct aisle access and sliding doors, ANA Premium Economy, and two Economy cabin classes.

Domestic Fleet

ANA's domestic Japanese network is served by approximately 80 Airbus A320/A321neo and Boeing 737-800 aircraft alongside the 777s and 787s on trunk routes. Japan's domestic aviation market is the world's third-largest by passengers, with the Tokyo–Sapporo, Tokyo–Fukuoka, and Tokyo–Osaka corridors handling over 10 million passengers annually each. ANA also operates ATR-72 turboprops through regional subsidiaries serving smaller Japanese islands including Amami and Miyazaki.

Innovation and Future Fleet

ANA has orders for additional 787-10 aircraft and the Airbus A321XLR for medium-haul expansion. The airline was an early investor in Boom Supersonic and has signed a memorandum for 20 Overture supersonic aircraft, though this remains a long-term aspiration. ANA is also expanding its narrowbody fleet through subsidiary Peach Aviation (A320/A321neo) to address budget travel demand. The airline targets carbon neutrality by 2050 and has begun mixing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) on select flights.
